Lovely gardens. Relaxed atmosphere. Tasty breakfast
Busy road to cross,as no pavement on hotel side.
We liked the excellent selection available on the dinner menu and the food was beautiful including the buffet breakfast.
We had a room facing the main road which initially felt very dark but it very soon did not matter and the traffic at nightn was not troublesome.
good location and views qiuet frendly and very good service from staff.hotel very clean and well furnished.lovely hotel.
Good location, short walk to the lake with plenty of shops and pubs/cafes on the way. Lovely bar area, great view from dining room . Tasty breakfast.
Although our double room was rather small, which is ok for 1 night stay, it was clean. The biggest issue was that you could hear every single noise in the corridor and doors slamming and floor squeaking. Also hotel is situated on a main road hence we could hear all noises from people and cars passing by, as our window was overlooking the road, even when the window was closed you could still hear noises, not as loud though. As the result we didn't have a good sleep. Our friends had the same story. The room was overpriced for what it was. Don't think we will be coming back again.
First of all, the views of the lake and mountains from the lounge, dining room and some of the bedrooms are fantastic. Secondly, the staff are all extremely pleasant, helpful and laid back (in a good way!). Thirdly, we like the fact that it is clearly not part of a chain and has its own character. I also like the fact that it has easy access to Windermere, Bowness and the lake - we came for a long weekend without a car and it was never a problem. The food is also very good.
The positives more than compensate for the negatives. Some of the rooms are not really worth the money and there is a traffic noise issue with at least some of the rooms facing the road. We were not happy with our original room but we were upgraded to a quiter room the following day without any fuss and no extra charge.
An excellent hotel ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness. Very comfortable and clean rooms with good facilities, Friendly staff and good food. Private safe parking in hotel grounds. Will definately be staying there again.
Absolutely no complaints.
Great Breakfast and very nice staff.
We Were a bit disappointed because we booked a four poster room and it was awful so we went for another room which was nice new and clean and still paid the same price which i didn't expect.
The food was really nice and the room was nice and clean, only minutes away from the lake.
My partner and I thought the food was excellent and the service first class. The location was good within a short walk to shops/pubs. This hotel is more suited to the mature client.
Our room was quite dark and lighting poor, it needed brightening up. TV reception poor, when we complained it seemed it's an ongoing problem. We were compensated with a free bottle of wine and chocolates which was nice of them.
The staff were welcoming, and friendly. The gardens and building are impressive and attractive. The room facilities were acceptable.
Room was too small and dark. Bed although a double was small and pillows very uncomfortable. Rooms should have independent temperature control as they were too hot, Generally hotel in need of a little bit of TLC on its decor. Expensive for what it offers.
Nice staff good location
room was very small - bit pricey considering - hotel could do with a freshen up as very tired looking inside
very relaxing stay
when cleaning teeth cant put head in sink properly as shelf is to low
food was amazing, cleanliness and decor of rooms excellent ,staff friendly and accomodating everything is as it is in the pictures you see on the internet .Leisure facilities were nearby.
View and location
Room was very small and needed a update - Bathroom was Ok
location was great, near restaurants and walking distance from the lake. They accept dogs.Beautiful view from the lounge and nice atmosphere
Was a bit pricey.
